Around 100 km of cycling and hiking paths in Bergkamen offer long-distance tours. The Beversee and Lippeaue nature preserves and the nature-restored Bergehalde Großes Holz are popular destinations for hikers. The FLVW “FitnessPark Bergkamen” offers suitable running and walking paths. The map set with 20 maps and running/walking tips is available at the city of Bergkamen's Bürgerbüro (information bureau) and in our online shop.

Cycling in Bergkamen is very diverse thanks to the extensive network of paths. Many inter-regional cycling routes run directly through Bergkamen. Cycling along the Datteln-Hamm Canal is especially popular with a brief pause at the Westfälische Sportbootzentrum - Marina Rünthe.
